The Depression-Anxiety Program is designed to help you manage the symptoms of depression and anxiety at the same time. This course is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has been developed by psychologists and researchers from the National eTherapy Centre.
What to Expect?
The Depression-Anxiety Program has 12 modules that you can do in your own time and have access to for 12 months. Overall, the program will help you understand the symptoms you have been experiencing and teach you strategies to improve your wellbeing and mental health.
The content aims to provide useful information and to introduce skills that can help you to manage symptoms and alleviate distress. You can do Depression-Anxiety at your own pace, and engage with the materials you find most helpful.
How do I use the Depression-Anxiety Program?
You can enrol in the Depression-Anxiety Program after signing up for an account with Mental Health Online.
You can work through the Depression-Anxiety Program by yourself or with support from one of our therapists. You can use the program in a flexible way, in your own time, and in a way that fits into your week. To get the most out of the program, we recommend committing a few hours a week to learn from the program materials and to practice the skills and strategies they introduce.
Considering therapist support?
If you reside in Australia, you can also sign up to our free Therapist Assist option to access 12 weeks of support from our therapists while you use the program.
If you choose this option you will talk with one of our therapists over the phone before beginning your program. During your program you will receive weekly email support from your therapist. You will also have the option of adding up to four live sessions with your therapist via our secure video and chat platform.
Is this program right for me?
The Depression-Anxiety Program may be most helpful for people who experience depression and anxiety, with mild to moderate severity. It has been created for people who are:
- Over the age of 18 years
- Australian residents
You can also complete our online mental health assessment called the e-pass which will make recommendations about the program that might be right for you. For example, the Depression-Anxiety program may be the best fit for those experiencing both depression and anxiety, whose anxiety is broad and generalised in nature. On the other hand, those with anxiety specific to social situations may benefit from completing our Social Anxiety Online program, and those experiencing obsessions or compulsions are advised to complete our OCD Stop! program.
How do I get started?
Making changes to support our mental health can be challenging and it takes time. We recommend putting aside a few hours each week to read about and work on the skills in the Depression-Anxiety Program.
Mental Health Online is not a crisis service. If you are currently suicidal, are in crisis, or are in need of immediate help please contact one of the services listed here.
